Part 1 (Chapters 1-2)

Let me start this post off by saying that I was very apprehensive about reading this book. I did judge the book by the cover. But as I read it became apparent that this book may not be as atrocious as Miley Cryus' acting.
So the main characters name is Veronica aka "Ronnie". Such an awesome name...ha. Not. Anyway. She has a little brother named Jonah. Sounds adorable!!! Ronnie and Jonah are on their way to their dad's. Her parents are divorced. Ronnie and Jonah live with their mom in New York and her dad lives at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Ronnie is not to happy about going to stay with her dad for the summer. Yeah...I would be happy about going to the beach for the summer too...as if. See Ronnie used to play the piano and she was good...like scary good. Her dad taught her everything she knew. He had taught at Juilliard and he was pretty beastly too. When he left she stopped playing. If I had the talent she had I definitely would not have stopped playing. Like did she lose some brain cells of something? Geez.
Steve, Ronnie's father, loved playing the piano. He played the piano as he waited for his children to arrive. If I was him I woulda have been cleaning up the house! He loves his children with all his heart. His father had died 6 years ago and then a year later he quit his job at Juilliard...Slow much? Why would you quit teaching at the most prestigous music school in the world? He then went on tour as a concert pianist and he left his family for months at a time. A year after that he and his wife divorced. He ended up moving back to his hometown. I'm going to go ahead and assume you can probably figure out where that is. When Ronnie and Jonah arrived Jonah flipped out. He ran and hugged his dad and they bonded for a minute and then he went to play on the beach. Cute!!! What kid wouldn't want to play on the beach! Ronnie just ignored her dad and walked off. Rude much? Geez. Steve and Kim( their mother) talk for a little while and then she leaves. Of course Ronnie is nowhere in sight. What a rebellious kid. Turns out Steve was making a stained glass window for the church that had burned up down the street. He decided to let Jonah help him with it. Yeah i'm positive I would let a 10 year old help with something that important..not. Jonah and Steve decide to go to the fair with Ronnie still nowhere in sight...oh well. Her loss.

  1. Great parenting - "Let's leave my rebellious teen alone at a place she doesn't want to be in the first place." Super smart.
